A New Reward for True Peacebuilders
For those who lead the way to ending wars.
Welcome to the Americas Peace Prize
Lasting peace is never whispered. It is declared—by people whose words travel borders and whose courage commands attention. Real change at the national or continental level comes when someone with an international voice steps forward and refuses to be ignored.
Think of Mahatma Gandhi
A single man, yet the whole world paused to hear him. His insistence on non-violence broke an empire and inspired every freedom movement of the last century. Five nominations, not one Nobel Peace Prize.
Remember Muhammad Ali
His boxing titles meant nothing the day he said “No” to the Vietnam War. That refusal echoed from Harlem to Hanoi and helped turn global opinion against the conflict. The Nobel Committee looked the other way.
Consider Pope John Paul II
From Rome he spoke into the heart of the Cold War, backing Poland’s Solidarity, opening doors across the Iron Curtain, and softening the ground on which walls finally fell. Yet he, too, was passed over.
Why Now?
These voices were international
They reached soldiers and presidents alike. They swayed millions, calmed continents, and ended wars—yet they were never honored by the prize meant to celebrate peace.
The Americas Peace Prize exists to change that story. We will recognize those who use their global platform to stop violence, unite nations, and heal divisions—people who risk authority, reputation, and safety so the world can move forward without bloodshed.
Peace is not a quiet hope; it is a loud, public stand against conflict. If you know someone whose words have crossed borders and pulled people back from the brink, add your voice now. Nominate them. Vote for them. Share their story. Help us ensure that when history looks back on the peacemakers of our time, their names are not footnotes but foundations.
Your voice. Your vote. Your peace prize.
Our Vision
To recognize individuals who have shaped the course of peace at moments of real international conflict — those whose decisions, voices, or leadership altered outcomes between nations.
- Held power in times of crisis and chose peace over escalation
- Spoke with moral authority when silence would have been safer
- Organized movements that defused confrontation instead of feeding it
- Led from the battlefield or the negotiating table to stop war, not wage it
- Used their public platform to shift the direction of conflict, not inflame it
-
These are individuals whose actions — not aspirations — helped prevent war, end it, or rebuild in its wake. They are not symbols.
They are agents of peace in the most consequential moments.
What’s Coming
We’re just getting started.
In the weeks ahead, we’ll introduce a transparent nomination and selection process, open to the public and grounded in action, not politics.
You’ll hear weekly stories of real peacebuilders — individuals working every day to resolve conflict, restore trust, and build understanding.
As the movement grows, we’ll expand across North, Central, and South America — creating a shared platform for recognition across the hemisphere.
And each year, the Americas Peace Award will be presented in a different country from each of the three regions — rotating between the North, the Central, and the South — as a symbol of unity across the Americas.
Get Involved
- You can nominate real peacemakers — people taking action to bring communities together.
